Go work (part 3): God can call you to a secular activity
'Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: “See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, to design artistic works, to work in gold, in silver, in bronze, in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of workmanship.
“And I, indeed I, have appointed with him Aholiab the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; and I have put wisdom in the hearts of all the gifted artisans, that they may make all that I have commanded you: the tabernacle of meeting, the ark of the Testimony and the mercy seat that is on it, and all the furniture of the tabernacle— the table and its utensils, the pure gold lampstand with all its utensils, the altar of incense, the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, and the laver and its base— the [a]garments of ministry, the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments of his sons, to minister as priests, and the anointing oil and sweet incense for the holy place. According to all that I have commanded you they shall do.”
(Exodus 37:1-11)
In the above passage, we see that God had called and capacitated Bezalel, Aholiab, and a group of artisans to build the tabernacle of meeting, the Ark of Testimony, the Mercy seat, and all the furniture of the tabernacle.
Notice that God did not call those men to be full time ministers. It is important to highlight this point because many Christians still believe that God only calls people to serve in the five fold ministries.
God can his children to various careers within society. Therefore, we cannot downplay the various secular calling that God gives us.
If you have been called to study a specific field at university, then do it.
If you have been called to a specific career within society, then go for it.
The reason why key positions in society are now filled by the children of darkness is simply because the children of Light do not want to embrace the different callings that God has bestowed on them.
Instead of embracing their divine callings, they have become observers on Youtube and other social media platforms. They constantly sound the alarm on who could be the Antichrist and who will bring darkness in the future.
God has called us to be doers of His word (James 1:22) not just hearers.
The more we decide to stay away from God’s calling, the more we become absent from the positions we are supposed to occupy in the world. The more we are absent, the more the enemy places his people, thus causing greater darkness.
Laziness has no place in the Kingdom. There is darkness in the world because the children of Light are refusing to take their positions.
If you have stayed away from your God given calling for whatever reason, I want you to repent. Repent because many people are missing out. Repent because the Lord is coming soon and He will request an account of the things you were supposed to do.
Repent and embrace your God given calling.
