Why Christians should play key roles in the economy

Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon. It exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people. Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.

This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man.That number is 666.


(Revelations 13:11-18)



The above passage makes reference to a special character that will intervene in the future. That character will be evil and will be forcing the whole earth to worship a Beast. As you may have surely seen, the above passage is a reference to the future end times.



I will not speak much about all the verses of the above passage. However, I would like us to focus on verses 16 and 17 where the Bible says:

‘ It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name’.


Notice that the beast comes on Earth to dominate and subdue humanity. Notice in the the passage that the Beast is performing miracles and yet those miracles are not enough to fully dominate over humanity. As a result, the Beast elevates its game and decides to force all humanity into receiving a special mark on their forehead or on their right hand. That mark would be the tool that would force the entire humanity into submission.

Notice as well that the Beast has to infiltrate the economic system to develop the effectiveness of its mark. In all economic systems, we buy and we sell.

If the enemy views the economic system as a valuable tool of dominance, the Church should not neglect the value and power of the economic system of this world.

Some Christians have been called to work within key economic functions for a specific reason. You know, if a government does not like Christianity or righteousness, they may (in some cases) use economic tools to press against Christianity. However, if we have Christians holding positions within the economic system, then the likelihood of economic persecution can be reduced.

Let each Christian who has been called to work in economic-commercial-financial roles take his/her place.

In many cases, the enemy does not need to fight. He just needs the absence of Christians from their post. Once a post is vacant, He just places his agent to advance biddings of darkness.
